Tim brings extensive experience to the Georgia Kings

Tim Raffa joins Georgia Kings Basketball this year as Head Coach for our 11th Grade team after having served as Assistant Coach for our 9th and 10th Grade teams in 2015 and 2016 respectively.  Tim, who holds a Masters Degree in Sports Administration, is more than qualified for this position having been actively involved in youth athletics for more than 15 years.   Tim has coached softball, baseball, football and of course basketball in various leagues in East Cobb.  For the past 13 years Tim coached at East Marietta Basketball and has worked in the capacity as Commissioner for 7 of these 13 years and is currently the 18UB-D1 Commissioner.  He has coached both girls and boys teams in both winter and spring leagues.

Tim has lived in East Cobb for many years and loves participating in sports as a way to give back to the community.  This past summer, Tim organized and coached a 16UB travel basketball team called the “Marietta Mayhem.”  In a statement, Tim said “My coaching style stresses teaching, defensive effort, fundamentals, fairness, empowering each player to be their best individually and, more importantly, developing team identity, responsibility and performance. I am thrilled for the opportunity to coach the 11th grade team and I am looking forward to working with the returning players and getting to know and coach some new ones.”
